very good quality for price November 30, 2007 Reviewer:  S. F. See all my reviews >

This product works much better than FM adaptors for rural areas with fuzzy signal. It has a very clear sound, even for soft, classical music, unlike the FM transmitter I first tried. I have owned this cassette adaptor for almost a year and it still sounds great. The only slight drawback is that for every 2 hours or so of listening, it skips once, but this is not very distracting.

sad i didn't read these reviews before January 4, 2009 Reviewer:  unsatisfied See all my reviews >

i bought this about a week ago for a 2002 toyota solara and like a lot of people who have written before me, it played music ok (not ipod quality but casette tape quality sound) but made a lot of noise. it was a loud rhythmic clicking noise that made me think i had my blinkers on all the time.
so i emailed griffin and asked if this is normal (because my parents had a device like this in the 90s for a portable cd player, and that did not make such awful noise). so they said it shouldn't be doing that, that there may be certain settings i would have to adjust, but nothing worked, so they said i should get an exchange. i guess i'll see if target will accept the opened packaging, but one thing's for sure, i'll never buy a griffin product again.

Good at first... November 20, 2008 Reviewer:  college kid (Philadelphia, PA USA)  See all my reviews >

The quality was good when I bought it. Not too much to complain about but it did make rumbling noises. Not much to complain about until it didn't work anymore. It made even more noise and spit itself out of the cassette player of my stereo. It would play for 10 seconds AT MOST and then spit itself out. Was it overuse? I'm not sure. It shouldn't have done that though.

GARBAGE!!! May 14, 2009 Reviewer:  Dude man (Riverside, CA)  See all my reviews >

I really wish I had read the reviews as well. Save your money and do not buy this product unless you want a terrible adapter. End of story.

If there was a no-star option, that's what I would've put December 31, 2008 Reviewer:  Melissa L (San Leandro, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I created this account just to express what a piece of trash this excuse for a product is. The minute I opened it and stuck it in my car I knew there was something wrong. It made a huge noise like it didn't know what to do with itself and then spit itself back out after about fifteen seconds of a horribly annoying grinding noise.

I tried repeatedly to get it to work, ejecting it myself and putting it back in. It didn't work once. And the best part is that the packaging ensures that you cannot return it to Target. I reprimand both Target and Griffin and will never buy from them again. It was a wasted twenty dollars.

HORRIBLE December 7, 2008 Reviewer:  unsatisfied customer See all my reviews >

I bought one a while ago and I seriously thought it was possessed. It would play on side one for a little bit then it would switch over to side two and then it ejected. I returned it and got the same one thinking all of them weren't like that. The second one I bought worked fine sometimes it switched from side one to two but it wasn't as bad as the previous one. Just recently it started switching from side one to two then it ejected then the tape would go back in on side two and switch to side one and then repeat the cycle until I manually ejected it.

Great for iPod February 15, 2008 Reviewer:  L.C. (Boston, MA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I own an iPod Shuffle.... and a 7 year old Toyota with a cassette player.
A few days ago, I purchased the Griffin "DirectDeck" Cassette Adapter.
I was amazed how great it works!
(I'm a bit of a pessimist).

[...]

WOW! [...] the music sounded even better !!!!! Crystal clear... even cranked up.

I am thrilled the Griffin works so well with my "Shuffle".
I assume the Griffin Cassette Adapter works just as well with an iPod or Nano.

Hope this was helpful.
